Daniel Alvarez is a chef, baker and chocolate maker of the fourth generation of a family of bakers from Murcia. During his career he has worked together with the famous Spanish and European pastry chefs. He ranked fourth at the “Les Croquembouches” in Paris in 1998 and was a runner-up at the Mejor Maestro Pastelero de España (Best Pastry Master of Spain) in 1999 and 2000. He won a gold medal at the Euroamerican Pastry Championship in 2000 and 2001 and was a part of the Spanish team at the Gelato World Cup in 2005 and 2007. He published his own book “Sweet Devotion. A current vision of the artisan bakery.” Currently he is the owner of the pastry shop Dalua Catering in Elche in Alicante and a professor at the Chocolate Academy in Spain and Mexico. Moreover, since 2016 he has been a part of the exclusive world association of pastry chefs Relais Desserts and the ambassador of Cacao Barry.
